Financial Disclosure Requirements for State Office Candidates and Officeholders
Candidates for public are required to report expenditures and contributions made to bring about their nomination or election. The reports must be received in the Lt. Governor's Office by 5 p.m. on the due date or clearly postmarked 3 days before the due date. If a candidate fails to file the required financial disclosure reports, the Lt. Governor will disqualify the candidate and remove his or her name from the ballot.
Starting in 2008, all Officeholders will have a yearly financial disclosure due on January 10.

Filing a Financial Disclosure Report Electronically
Candidates should file financial disclosure reports electronically by using the Utah Reporting System.
Step 1: Contact the Lt. Governor's Office by e-mail at disclosure@utah.gov or call (801) 538-1041 to obtain a user ID and password.
Step 2: Go to the Utah Reporting System.
Step 3: Log into the Utah Reporting System by entering your user ID and password.
Step 4: Begin entering contributions and expenditures.
Step 5: Submit report. You must click “Submit Report” for your report to be submitted to the Lt. Governor's Office.
Note: Financial Disclosure reports must be received in the Lt. Governor’s Office by 5 p.m. on the due date. If a candidate fails to file the required financial disclosure reports, the candidate will be disqualified.

In Person
Reports that are hand-delivered must be turned in to the Lt. Governor's Office by 5 p.m. on the due date.
By Mail
Reports must be mailed to:

If a report is mailed, it must be postmarked at least 3 days before the due date to be considered timely filed.
By Fax
Reports can be faxed to (801) 538-1133 and must arrive in the Lt. Governor's Office by 5 p.m. on the due date. Please do not wait until the last minute to fax, as the Lt. Governor's office has only 1 fax machine, and it will be very difficult to fax the closer to the deadline you wait.
