THE FIRST FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE REPORT FOR

STATE SCHOOL BOARD CANDIDATES IS DUE MAY 15, 2008.

The Office of the Lieutenant Governor recently sent a letter to candidates with information about financial disclosure reports

and the statewide electronic voter information website. The letter incorrectly addressed state school board candidates as if they

are running for partisan office. However, state school board is a non-partisan office. We apologize for any confusion caused by our error.

Since state school board candidates are not nominated by political parties, the due date for their first financial report is not tied

to a political party convention. Instead, the first financial report for state school board candidates is due no later

than 5:00 p.m., Thursday, May 15, 2008.

All other information in the letter, including usernames and passwords, is correct.
